Quality Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement quality standards, inspection procedures, and testing protocols
• Monitor production processes, conduct audits, and perform root cause analysis (5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA)
• Analyze data using statistical methods (SPC, capability studies) to drive process improvements
• Manage non-conformances, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and supplier quality
• Collaborate with design, production, and engineering teams on new product introductions (NPI)
• Prepare documentation, host audits, and support customer requirements (PPAP, FAI)
• Maintain updated documentation and contribute to the Quality Management System (QMS)
• Resolve customer non-conformances using 8D reports and coach manufacturing partners
• Perform on-site inspections at manufacturing partners and internal inspections

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of experience in sheet metal, welding, and CNC machining processes
• Experience with PPAP documentation and new product launches
• Knowledge of Core Tools (PFMEA, Control Plan, Capability Studies)
• Fluency in English and Spanish
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings with GD&T
• Experience preparing 8D reports
• Experience with inspection using measurement equipment

Preferred Qualifications

• Internal Quality Auditor certification (ISO 9001:2015 / IATF 16949)
