Quality Engineer III

Responsibilities

• Plan and direct activities for the development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for the KPLSS II program
• Technically supervise quality projects and coordinate the efforts of technical support staff
• Provide leadership for quality assurance and quality control to ensure products meet customer and company requirements
• Develop and apply advanced quality assurance/control theories to solve complex technical problems
• Evaluate supplier capabilities and act as a liaison for establishing or modifying specifications for purchased items
• Maintain the site’s nonconformance and corrective/preventive action tracking systems
• Conduct investigations, perform internal audits, and develop corrective actions using root cause analysis techniques
• Develop metrics and performance indicators to monitor quality levels

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in quality, safety, physical science, or engineering
• 5+ years of relevant experience in quality engineering
• 3+ years of experience managing quality-related data
• U.S. Citizenship required for unescorted access to restricted work areas
• Ability to successfully pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI)
• Valid driver's license to drive on and around Kennedy Space Center
• Strong oral and written communication skills and proficiency in MS Office

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using various Root Cause Analysis methods and software
• Experience managing Corrective Action/Preventive Action (CAPA) data and tracking systems
• Experience with hazard analysis, risk assessment techniques, and ISO 9001 program development
• Auditor or Lead Auditor certification
• NACE inspector certification
• Local candidates preferred
