About the role

Responsibilities

  • Support vehicle engineering through the implementation of quality requirements and monitor consistency to global metric definitions
  • Interact with production and engineering teams to identify and implement solutions for issues impacting vehicle assembly
  • Ensure effective containment and resolution of identified non-conforming products
  • Coordinate repair, rework, and containment activities for identified spills
  • Support launch activities for new products and maintain documentation for manufacturing quality readiness reviews
  • Communicate emerging issues for responsible components daily to affected teams
  • Validate supplier scrap and work with SPPS processes on supplier-related issues
  • Support the PTR process by running evaluations and analyzing impact on product function

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technical discipline or a related field
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • U.S. Person status (citizen, permanent resident, asylee, or refugee) or eligibility to obtain required export control authorization
  • Proficiency in reading part drawings and interpreting part measurements
  • High level of analytical ability to solve unusual and difficult problems
  • Demonstrated technical and professional skills in a job-related area

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of GMS principles and practices
  • Engineering or quality background
  • Understanding of supplier quality standards
  • Knowledge of design tolerances and gauge function
  • Proficiency in using computer software related to quality engineering
