Quality Engineer

Responsibilities

• Drive and support problem-solving activities and warranty reduction initiatives
• Support initiatives to maintain BIQ 4 certification for the plant
• Develop and maintain Product Quality Standards for assigned roles
• Issue Quality Alerts and coordinate engine quality holds
• Coordinate repair, rework, and containment activities for identified spills
• Support APQP and supplier readiness activities, including PPAP
• Work with Engineering on PRTS issues and support the PTR process
• Participate in high-risk supplier communications and production quality meetings

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
• 3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Experience with PFMEA, PRTS, SPC, GD&T, and Control Plans
• Ability to work rotating shifts (1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift)
• Ability to work weekends and overtime as needed
• Strong problem-solving, corrective action, and communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Direct Quality Engineering experience
• Knowledge of engine machining or assembly manufacturing
• Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, and Red X (or Six Sigma)
• Red X Apprentice or Journeyman Certification
