Quality Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support vehicle engineering in the implementation of quality requirements
• Monitor consistency to Global Metric Definitions and performance
• Maintain documentation for Launch Manufacturing Quality Readiness Reviews
• Participate in Plant Quality Manager and Launch Quality Manager meetings
• Manage projects as requested by the Quality Shop Director
• Coach, teach, and audit elements of the GM Quality Manual and GMS BIQ principles
• Provide technical mentorship on complex problems to Assembly Plant and Engineering staff
• Support the launch of new products within the plant
• Maintain updates to Quality Requirements and manage deviations from plants
• Maintain Cost of Quality reports by plant

Requirements

• Proficiency and knowledge of the GM Quality System and GMS BIQ
• Knowledge of the Quality Launch Plan
• Proficiency and knowledge of the requirements in the Global Quality Manual
• Strong technical mentorship skills
• Ability to provide direct, honest, and professional feedback to plant staff and executive leadership
