Quality Engineer

Responsibilities

• Manage quality requirements and improvements for specific production lines and customer products
• Coordinate APQP projects, including the development of Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, and PFMEAs
• Facilitate customer PPAP submissions and review customer systems for non-conformances
• Prevent and resolve customer concerns using problem-solving tools such as 7D, 8D, and Five Whys
• Utilize quality tools like Pareto analysis, Mistake Proofing, and Statistical Process Control (SPC) to reduce waste
• Design and develop specialized gaging and quality system procedures
• Provide guidance to quality engineering technicians regarding layout, gage calibration, and floor audits
• Trace and review the status of engineering deviations and change requests

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field
• 2–4 years of experience in a manufacturing quality role
• Proven experience supporting APQP and new product launches
• Strong understanding of quality tools, methodologies, and GD&T
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and statistical software

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the automotive industry or working for a Tier 1 supplier
• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or similar certification
• Familiarity with IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 standards
• Hands-on experience with Gage R&R and calibration systems
