Quality Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support and advise construction projects to drive the implementation of "Built Right" principles and Quality Management Systems
• Conduct bid-phase quality reviews and provide advice on quality risks for tenders
• Perform quality design reviews to assist design teams with technical details and products
• Educate project teams on quality controls and prevent issues with high-risk trades
• Undertake on-site and off-site quality inspections and coach Supervisors and Engineers
• Establish processes to track technical submissions, samples, warranties, and approvals
• Review non-conformances and establish processes to manage defects throughout the project lifecycle
• Conduct Project QMS audits and assist with audits of fabricators and subcontractors

Requirements

• Technical construction knowledge and understanding of how to build
• Significant experience in a Quality Assurance or related supervisory role within construction
• Demonstrated understanding of relevant Australian Standards and the Building Code of Australia
• Process-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail
• Ability to show initiative and adapt to changing project situations
