Quality Engineer, Battery

Responsibilities

• Monitor battery quality performance metrics and identify emerging high-impact issues
• Drive root cause analysis and resolution using a data-driven approach
• Implement continuous improvement by driving lessons learned into relevant processes
• Develop and track data-driven metrics for issue monitoring and corrective action effectiveness
• Create innovative tools and processes to enhance efficiency and scalability
• Develop battery quality standards, control systems, and manufacturing/supplier protocols
• Perform thorough inspection and testing of materials, equipment, processes, and products
• Support assembly teams with battery packs, modules, and equipment buyoff
• Formulate effective corrective actions for supplier, production, and product challenges
• Participate in design reviews to mitigate manufacturing and assembly risks
• Lead MRB meetings and act as a quality representative within the engineering change control board

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field
• 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing or supplier quality engineering involving batteries
• Proficiency in ISO-9001:2018 or IATF 16949 standards
• Familiarity with APQP, SPC, PPAP, FMEA, and Quality Management Systems
• Ability to travel up to 30% of the time

Preferred Qualifications

• ASQ Certifications (CQE, CQA, CQM) or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
• Understanding of electric vehicle battery technology, general assembly, and thermal systems
