About the role
Responsibilities
- Support quality functions across Environmental Science laboratories by monitoring QC charts
- Administer proficiency testing schemes and investigate non-conformance reports
- Conduct internal system and vertical audits and track audit schedules
- Verify the effectiveness of corrective and preventative actions
- Manage controlled laboratory documentation including reviewing and amending SOPs
- Assist the Quality Manager in delivering training modules and monitoring KPIs
Requirements
- Experience with laboratory procedures, principles, methods, and instrumentation
- Knowledge of UKAS 17025 accreditation and MCerts standards
- Background in chemistry and laboratory operations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong understanding of scientific principles, nomenclature, and theory
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with forensic laboratory operations
- Knowledge of Forensic Science Regulator (FSR) Codes of Practice and ILAC standards
