Quality Control Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspection of steel structures, welds, systems, and mechanical assemblies according to IACS rules and classification societies
• Verify tightness of tanks and systems
• Inspect the operation of piping, HVAC, and installed equipment
• Execute and/or support non-destructive testing (NDT), specifically liquid penetrant, ultrasonic, and other applicable methods
• Identify and record defects, discontinuities, and non-conformities
• Prepare technical inspection reports and test results
• Monitor and verify the correction of non-conformities internally and with external authority inspectors
• Ensure traceability of materials and manufacturing processes
• Support internal and external audits and inspections from certifying entities
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety, and internal procedures

Requirements

• Technical training in Metalworking, Naval Construction, Welding, or equivalent industrial area
• Certification in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), specifically liquid penetrant and Ultrasonic (UT)
• Proficiency in technical English
• Knowledge of welding processes (MIG/MAG, TIG, SMAW)
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and isometrics
• Knowledge of IACS, ISO, ASME, EN, or AWS standards

Preferred Qualifications

• Higher education in Mechanical or Naval Engineering
• Complementary training in Welding Inspection
• 2 to 5 years of experience in naval or industrial quality control
