Quality Control Technician I

Responsibilities

• Perform daily QC tests for production batches and incoming raw materials according to established procedures
• Develop batch adjustments to meet quality standards and ensure proper color matching
• Document color data, update batch status, and enter results into software systems
• Communicate batch status updates to production staff
• Maintain and store color draw downs in the database
• Prepare documentation for quality test data, retained samples, and QC database entries
• Assist in maintaining laboratory inventory, including solvents, cures, and bases
• Conduct quality checks during the production and filling of batches
• Test and approve incoming bulk shipments of raw materials
• Maintain laboratory housekeeping and equipment calibration
• Assist in the technical evaluation of nonconforming batches and customer complaints
• Adhere to all safety rules, regulations, and industrial hygiene practices

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Minimum 1 year of analytical lab or paint experience
• Working knowledge of basic chemistry and algebra
• Proficiency with MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel)
• Understanding of laboratory equipment, including setting and calibration
• Normal color vision required for color testing
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work in a laboratory environment involving solvents, dust, and chemicals
• Ability to lift containers up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ERP systems
• Experience with color-matching software
