About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform daily QC tests for production batches and incoming raw materials according to established procedures
- Develop batch adjustments to meet quality standards and ensure proper color matching
- Document color data, update batch status, and enter results into software systems
- Communicate batch status updates to production staff
- Maintain and store color draw downs in the database
- Prepare documentation for quality test data, retained samples, and QC database entries
- Assist in maintaining laboratory inventory, including solvents, cures, and bases
- Conduct quality checks during the production and filling of batches
- Test and approve incoming bulk shipments of raw materials
- Maintain laboratory housekeeping and equipment calibration
- Assist in the technical evaluation of nonconforming batches and customer complaints
- Adhere to all safety rules, regulations, and industrial hygiene practices
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Minimum 1 year of analytical lab or paint experience
- Working knowledge of basic chemistry and algebra
- Proficiency with MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel)
- Understanding of laboratory equipment, including setting and calibration
- Normal color vision required for color testing
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work in a laboratory environment involving solvents, dust, and chemicals
- Ability to lift containers up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ERP systems
- Experience with color-matching software
