About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement site-specific health and safety plans and quality control programs in compliance with OSHA and EM 385-1-1 guidelines.
- Conduct daily safety and health inspections, maintain written logs, and manage a deficiency tracking system.
- Perform mishap investigations, complete accident reports, and manage OSHA Form 300/300A logging.
- Oversee subcontractors to ensure strict adherence to safety and quality requirements.
- Review and enforce Accident Prevention Plans (APP) and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHA).
- Provide site safety orientation and indoctrination for employees, subcontractors, and visitors.
- Maintain company safety and training records to ensure continuous OSHA compliance.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in construction quality and safety/health industry.
- 5 years of continuous construction industry safety experience in a supervisory or management capacity.
- Completed 40-Hour EM 385-1-1 Certified Site Safety & Health Course.
- Completed 30-Hour OSHA Construction Training.
- USACE Construction Quality Management Training for Contractors.
- Current First Aid and CPR Certification.
- Proven ability to identify onsite construction hazards and implement mitigation controls.
- Ability to travel (10-25%) to various work sites, primarily in the Southern United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation.
- OSHA Fall Protection Training.
- Asbestos Awareness Training.
- Hazardous Material Management (HAZWOPER) certification.
