About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive quality control inspections across all phases of nuclear pipe fabrication, including receiving, in-process, and final inspections.
- Prepare fabrication travelers and inspection work packages in accordance with ASME Section III and client specifications.
- Identify, document, and initiate Nonconformance Reports (NCRs), ensuring proper segregation and tracking of nonconforming items.
- Conduct receiving inspections on base materials, weld filler metals, and pressure boundary components to verify MTR compliance and traceability.
- Execute in-process inspections at mandatory hold points, verifying weld fit-up, preheat compliance, and material traceability.
- Perform final dimensional and visual inspections on completed spool pieces and piping assemblies.
- Coordinate with Authorized Nuclear Inspectors (ANI) and manage the fabrication data package for code compliance.
- Maintain measuring and test equipment (M&TE) within current calibration standards.
Requirements
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in a technical, engineering, or quality discipline (or equivalent experience).
- 3-5 years of quality control inspection experience in a pressure vessel, nuclear, or code-regulated pipe fabrication environment.
- ASNT SNT-TC-1A VT Level II certification.
- Proficiency with electronic Quality Management Systems (QMS) and MS Office.
- Strong understanding of ASME Section III and NQA-1 quality assurance standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional NDE method certifications such as PT or MT.
- Familiarity with ASME Section III N-stamp program requirements and ANI interface responsibilities.
