About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual inspections and specified tests of incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications
  • Verify and document the condition and count of items unloaded from shipments, reporting any discrepancies immediately
  • Use observation and testing to identify faults in materials and the manufacturing process
  • Document inspection results by completing reports, logs, and checklists
  • Document corrective action requests and input data into the corrective action database
  • Communicate with supervisors to determine recommendations and remedies for product questions
  • Maintain quality records and ensure inspection and measurement equipment is operating correctly

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of quality inspection experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment, particularly in welding
  • Thorough understanding of welding processes and products being inspected
  • Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and technical documents
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated ability to safely operate powered equipment such as forklifts or reach trucks
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods and lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform inspections in a production facility
