About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform visual inspections and specified tests of incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications
- Verify and document the condition and count of items unloaded from shipments, reporting any discrepancies immediately
- Use observation and testing to identify faults in materials and the manufacturing process
- Document inspection results by completing reports, logs, and checklists
- Document corrective action requests and input data into the corrective action database
- Communicate with supervisors to determine recommendations and remedies for product questions
- Maintain quality records and ensure inspection and measurement equipment is operating correctly
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years of quality inspection experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment, particularly in welding
- Thorough understanding of welding processes and products being inspected
- Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and technical documents
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated ability to safely operate powered equipment such as forklifts or reach trucks
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods and lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
- Ability to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform inspections in a production facility
