Quality Assurance Technologist

Responsibilities

• Monitor HACCP requirements, SQF systems, and food safety programs
• Oversee product quality, processing lines, plant conditions, and employee practices
• Conduct pre-op and operational inspections
• Collect micro, chemical, and product quality samples
• Maintain communication with Production, Maintenance, USDA, and FDA
• Evaluate storage conditions and pest control checks
• Assist with training on GMPs, HACCP, SQF, and quality procedures
• Troubleshoot food safety and quality issues in real time
• Perform sensory evaluations including taste, smell, texture, and visual
• Validate metal detection, thermometer calibration, and process control equipment
• Participate in daily product cutting and plant-wide performance audits

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field, OR 3+ years of QA experience in food manufacturing
• Experience in food manufacturing QA (excluding biotech or pharma)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Physical ability to walk, stand, climb stairs, and work around production activity
