Quality Assurance Specialist

Responsibilities

• Support the Quality Department and ensure employees follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Define, implement, and improve the Quality Management System (QMS)
• Implement, maintain, and audit quality control practices to ensure cannabis safety and compliance
• Assist in site HACCP Plan and quality system reviews
• Manage document controller responsibilities through the Electronic Quality Management System
• Perform routine audits of compliance processes and facilitate state regulatory inspections
• Conduct weekly compliance risk assessments and develop corrective action plans
• Monitor compliance to established Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidance
• Collect quality data and report metrics to management

Requirements

• Associate degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field (Bachelor's preferred)
• 3+ years of regulatory compliance management experience
• 5+ years of experience building and developing QA/QC processes and systems
• Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and Environmental sanitation programs
• Strong knowledge of sanitary design and food/pharmaceutical processing systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to travel on an as-needed basis
• Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license
• Must pass background checks and be approved by state badging agencies

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SQF, ISO, ASQ, PCQI, or similar certifications
• QMS auditor or similar certification
