About the role

Responsibilities

  • Collate, analyze and monitor company process and quality metrics
  • Author technical reports regarding quality levels and costs
  • Optimize manufacturability, assembly, and testability of components and final products
  • Implement PFMEA and new program tooling to mitigate risk
  • Ensure manufacturing processes meet customer and industry specifications
  • Conduct internal and external corrective actions
  • Maintain and report department KPIs
  • Facilitate problem-solving techniques within production and supplier teams
  • Develop robust predictive quality systems using Six Sigma, SPC, and GRR
  • Perform internal audits and resolve non-conformances

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Engineering or a related discipline
  • 3+ years of experience in quality assurance
  • Working knowledge of switchgear systems and power distribution standards (UL 891, UL 1558, IEEE C37)
  • Experience with UL/CSA and ISO 9001 QMS Systems
  • Solid background in Six Sigma methodology (Green Belt minimum)
  • Experience with manufacturing and testing equipment for electrical connectors and harnesses
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks
  • Knowledge of IPC-620
