Quality Assurance Engineer I

Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, and maintain quality evaluation and control systems for machining lines
• Implement methods for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision of products and equipment
• Conduct quality assurance tests and perform statistical analysis to manage product quality risks
• Perform root cause analysis for incidents requiring corrective action
• Ensure corrective measures and deviations meet reliability standards and compliance requirements
• Work effectively with hourly and skilled trades union workers
• Provide regular reports and updates to management regarding quality metrics

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering field from an accredited institution
• Knowledge of measurement systems and statistical analysis
• Basic understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and capability studies (Cp/Cpk)
• Ability to interpret component and assembly drawings
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to work on weekends as required to support production
• Ability to travel domestically (less than 5%)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a manufacturing environment or with hourly union personnel
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Experience using 3D modeling software
• Experience with statistical analysis software to calculate equipment capabilities (Cmk and Cpk)
• Experience using measurement equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and height gages
