About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop, modify, and maintain quality evaluation and control systems for machining lines
- Implement methods for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision of products and equipment
- Conduct quality assurance tests and perform statistical analysis to manage product quality risks
- Perform root cause analysis for incidents requiring corrective action
- Ensure corrective measures and deviations meet reliability standards and compliance requirements
- Work effectively with hourly and skilled trades union workers
- Provide regular reports and updates to management regarding quality metrics
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering field from an accredited institution
- Knowledge of measurement systems and statistical analysis
- Basic understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and capability studies (Cp/Cpk)
- Ability to interpret component and assembly drawings
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work on weekends as required to support production
- Ability to travel domestically (less than 5%)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment or with hourly union personnel
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience using 3D modeling software
- Experience with statistical analysis software to calculate equipment capabilities (Cmk and Cpk)
- Experience using measurement equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and height gages
