Quality Assurance & Color Design Intern

Responsibilities

• Assist with quality testing and inspection for raw materials, in-process materials, and finished ABS products.
• Support the collection, organization, and analysis of quality data, including trends and deviations.
• Assist in investigating non-conformances and supporting root cause analysis activities.
• Help maintain quality documentation such as SOPs, work instructions, and control plans.
• Perform color evaluations and matching using spectrophotometers and light booths.
• Support color development and correction activities following established procedures.
• Record and maintain accurate color history, recipes, and measurement data.
• Prepare and test color samples using laboratory and pilot-scale equipment like extruders and injection molding machines.
• Safely handle chemicals and materials in accordance with EHS requirements and MSDS.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a BS in Chemical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Polymer, Materials Science, Plastics Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong color perception ability (no color blindness or color weakness).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Ability to work onsite in Ravenna, Ohio (Full-time during summer; 10–20 hours per week during the academic year).
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of sophomore year or higher.
• Prior internship, co-op, laboratory, research, quality, or manufacturing experience.
• Familiarity with SI units and basic data analysis concepts.
