Quality and Food Safety Technician II

Responsibilities

• Provide real-time technical support to Operations, Maintenance, and leadership teams during production
• Lead noncompliance investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Perform audits and analyses on finished products, ingredients, packaging, and production systems
• Conduct inspections across key programs including GMPs, HACCP, sanitation, pest prevention, and allergen controls
• Investigate consumer and customer complaints to identify trends and solutions
• Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot QA lab and production testing equipment
• Record, analyze, and report audit findings and quality data
• Manage product holds/releases and communicate non-compliance issues with vendors
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across quality and food safety programs
• Ensure all work aligns with plant safety, food safety (SQF), quality, and environmental standards

Requirements

• 3+ years of food production experience
• 3+ years of laboratory experience
• Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, and GLPs
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in English (written and verbal)
• Ability to work a 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM rotating 2-3-2 schedule, including every other weekend

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in food science, microbiology, chemistry, or a related field
• Experience with audits, SPC, and quality systems
• PCQI certification
