About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced destructive and non-destructive testing on in-process and finished goods, including visual inspection, seal width, water entry pressure, and spectrophotometry.
- Execute testing protocols for engineering studies, product development, and validation activities.
- Serve as a technical subject matter expert for specialized QC instrumentation and Instron platforms.
- Troubleshoot testing issues, equipment failures, and data anomalies, providing technical feedback to Engineering teams.
- Mentor and train junior QC technicians on test methods, procedures, and compliance standards.
- Lead the collection and analysis of Statistical Process Control (SPC) data to monitor process stability and capability.
- Generate accurate quality records, documentation, and Certificates of Conformance in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Act as a final approval authority for finished product release, ensuring adherence to all safety and quality standards.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in quality functions within a regulated environment.
- Proven experience with Instron testing platforms (e.g., Blue Hill, Series IX, or Merlin).
- Strong ability to interpret SOPs, protocols, and engineering drawings.
- Proficiency with electronic quality systems (e.g., SAP) and Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Science, Math, or Engineering.
- Experience in an FDA-regulated medical device manufacturing environment.
- ASQ certifications such as CQT, CQI, or CQA.
