About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage daily QA/QC responsibilities to ensure construction meets project requirements, codes, and standards
- Perform regular surveillance audits, site walkdowns, and inspections to identify non-conformities
- Review, approve, and develop Inspection and Testing Plans (ITP) and associated checklists
- Monitor and evaluate subcontractor performance and documentation
- Support internal and external ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 audit programs
- Manage the material receiving process to ensure conformance with approved submittals
- Review quality records for accuracy and manage the disposition of nonconforming reports
- Provide guidance to Quality Inspectors and Field Technicians
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction, Project Management, Business, or Quality discipline
- 4+ years of experience in Quality or a related field
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) certification
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards
- Knowledge of Canadian Building Codes, CSA, and ASTM
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint)
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and navigate construction site terrain
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with problem-solving methodologies and Root Cause Analysis (e.g., Six Sigma)
- Understanding of fire-related construction requirements
