About the role
Responsibilities
- Create and implement the project’s construction quality management plan and supporting procedures for civil, mechanical, and piping scopes.
- Oversee quality planning and inspection for site prep, earthworks, compaction, piling, and concrete structures.
- Direct QA oversight of equipment receiving, preservation, installation, setting, and alignment.
- Manage piping quality including material traceability, welding program compliance (WPS/PQR/WPQ), NDE coordination, and pressure testing.
- Ensure complete, accurate, and auditable quality records, including ITPs, inspection reports, and turnover packages.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Industrial, Civil, Mechanical) or construction management preferred.
- 15+ years of progressively responsible experience leading construction quality on large industrial projects (chemical, petrochemical, refinery, or similar).
- Strong working knowledge of industrial codes and standards such as ACI, ASCE, ASTM, AISC, ASME B31.3, ASME IX, and AWS.
- Demonstrated success managing quality for concrete, heavy civil works, equipment installation, and piping construction.
- Ability to work onsite in St. Gabriel, LA, in field conditions, including walking on uneven ground and climbing ladders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Quality certifications such as ASQ (CQA/CQE) or ISO 9001 Lead Auditor.
- Welding or NDE credentials such as AWS CWI or NDE Level II/III familiarity.
- API certifications (API 570, 510, or 653).
