About the role
Responsibilities
- Test samples to ensure product quality, safety, and specification compliance
- Audit production and packaging for accuracy in shapes, specifications, storage, packaging, labeling, and coding
- Identify and manage non-conforming products and food safety hazards, ensuring issues are investigated and recommending solutions
- Maintain records, documentation, and retention samples
- Proactively identify and execute on continuous improvement opportunities
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as crouching, kneeling, stooping, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods
- Ability to work in dusty, high heat, and high humidity environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a food-related field (Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry, etc.)
- Previous experience in quality assurance testing
