QA Engineer

About the Company

Boom is on a mission to level the playing field for the 110+ million renters in the US by making housing more flexible, affordable, and rewarding. Boom is building a suite of rental financial services for renters and property managers, including tenant screening, rent payment reporting, and integrations with the largest property management systems.

Responsibilities

• Run manual and exploratory testing across new features, regressions, and edge cases
• Validate behavior across browsers, operating systems, and mobile devices
• Test third-party integrations including payment processors, accounting systems, and banking partners
• Own final QA sign-off for production releases
• Maintain regression suites and catch unintended side effects
• Write clear, reproducible bug reports with screenshots and reproduction steps
• Partner with PMs and engineers to clarify requirements and ship customer-focused tests
• Maintain test cases, checklists, and QA standards

Requirements

• 2+ years of QA or software testing experience, ideally in SaaS or fintech
• Experience with web and mobile platforms
• Strong analytical instincts and ability to assess product behavior
• Proficiency with browser dev tools, network inspection, and API integration testing
• Daily use of AI tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot
• Strong written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience testing payment flows, financial systems, or compliance-sensitive features
• Exposure to test automation or scripting
