QA Automation Engineer – Backend & API

Responsibilities

• Develop automated tests and test frameworks to enhance software quality for front end and backend Business Support Systems (BSS).
• Automate components including billing, product catalog, ordering, and shipping.
• Conduct functional and non-functional testing, including performance, security, resiliency, and chaos testing.
• Identify and implement quality processes to enhance engineering efficiency.
• Automate various aspects of the software development lifecycle.
• Partner and collaborate with both on-shore and off-shore teams in an agile environment.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience as a QA Automation Engineer.
• Strong automation testing expertise for REST and SOAP APIs.
• Proficiency in Python or Java.
• Experience with Linux-based systems such as RedHat and Docker.
• Hands-on experience with performance testing frameworks like Selenium or Cucumber.
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
• Experience with Apache and WebLogic platforms.
• Knowledge of database architectures including SQL, Oracle, or MongoDB.
• Working knowledge of GIT, SVN, JIRA, AWS, Puppet, and SOAPUI.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of billing platforms.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS) and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Grafana and Kibana.
• Understanding of JMS or other message processing platforms.
