Python Development Engineer 4

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and implement large-scale, Python-based backend applications and microservices
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements and integration needs
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior Software Development Engineers
• Oversee the creation of technical documentation, including evaluation plans, test results, and manuals
• Design software update processes and assist with the roll-out of software releases
• Work closely with Quality Assurance teams to ensure applications meet all technical specifications
• Present and defend architectural and design choices to internal audiences

Requirements

• 8 to 12 years of experience in software engineering
• Proven delivery experience with large-scale Python backend projects
• Proficiency with REST APIs and frameworks such as Flask or Django
• Deep understanding of Microservices Architecture and high-volume, high-availability systems
• Strong knowledge of software engineering practices, including design patterns and TDD
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated build systems, and Docker/containers
• Proficiency working within Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Experience with performance testing frameworks and logging/monitoring/alerting tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of utilizing AI within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
