PVD Equipment Engineer

Responsibilities

• Perform equipment troubleshooting using a systematic and analytical mindset to minimize or eliminate downtime
• Oversee the decommissioning, movement, installation, upgrade, retrofit, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment
• Monitor equipment uptime and implement improvement actions to enhance reliability and resolve chronic issues
• Conduct technical training for line technicians to improve competency and disseminate critical knowledge
• Manage spare part availability and costs
• Collaborate with process engineers on yield-related topics and implement containment actions to prevent recurrence
• Partner with external vendors on troubleshooting, procurement, and equipment upgrades
• Lead or participate in projects focused on downtime reduction, cost savings, yield improvement, or new material qualification
• Define maintenance procedures and upkeep documentation to ensure smooth manufacturing operations
• Coordinate equipment activities across departments to ensure seamless execution

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, or related field) with 2+ years of Hardware Engineering experience, OR a Master's degree with 1+ year of experience, OR a PhD in a related field
• Hands-on experience working with vacuum PVD equipment
• Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively as a dynamic team player
• A strong passion for driving continuous improvements in equipment and process setups
