Purchasing Specialist

Responsibilities

• Provide purchasing, sourcing, and project support for US and Canada distribution centers
• Prepare requisitions and purchase orders by verifying item specifications and vendor pricing
• Manage and maintain production, maintenance, office, and janitorial supplies
• Develop supply expense analysis and report results to management
• Help develop DC purchasing forecasts and plan procurement to meet budget requirements
• Utilize Ariba procurement software and MVP inventory software to order and receive goods
• Negotiate with vendors to satisfy company interests and maximize efficiencies
• Reconcile monthly receipts and expenses in accordance with financial policies
• Resolve vendor issues such as lost shipments, incorrect parts, or unpaid invoices
• Maintain positive relationships with business partners, vendors, and internal departments

Requirements

• High degree of proficiency in Google Suite and internet applications
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
• Self-motivated with critical attention to detail and reporting accuracy

Preferred Qualifications

• College degree
• 3+ years of operational experience in a warehousing or retail industry setting
• Working knowledge of PC-based applications, host applications, and database management
