About the role
Responsibilities
- Purchase stock from various suppliers to maintain stock levels and meet deadlines
- Organise stock call-ups in alignment with customer project schedules
- Negotiate with suppliers to ensure the best possible pricing is obtained
- Review backorders and follow up on delivery times with suppliers daily
- Provide high-level support to the Inventory Manager, Commercial Manager, and Director
- Communicate stock updates and backorder information to Account Managers, Sales Coordinators, and warehouse staff
- Resolve purchasing discrepancies and answer internal and external queries
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and participate in bi-annual stocktakes
Requirements
- Strong interest in Procurement, preferably within a commercial industry
- Experience using ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High level of attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to build rapport quickly with vendors and colleagues
