Purchasing Officer

Responsibilities

• Raise and manage purchase orders in the ERP system in line with demand and procurement policies
• Monitor orders through to delivery, managing delays, backorders, and changes
• Liaise with suppliers to confirm pricing, availability, and lead times
• Support supplier negotiations and assist with onboarding new suppliers
• Identify and evaluate new suppliers to support cost, quality, and supply continuity
• Support sourcing activities including RFQs and supplier comparisons
• Work closely with production, planning, and engineering teams to ensure material availability
• Coordinate logistics and freight, resolving delivery issues where needed
• Maintain accurate purchasing data and support reporting on supplier performance and spend

Requirements

• Certificate or Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related discipline
• Experience in purchasing or procurement within a manufacturing or engineering environment
• Proficiency in using ERP systems and maintaining accurate data
• Strong understanding of purchase order management and supplier coordination
• Effective communication and negotiation skills
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
