Purchasing Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of the company’s purchasing strategy to ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies, pricing structures, and approved vendor programs.
• Evaluate the trade base and onboard new vendors to maintain a competitive supplier pool.
• Manage strategic supplier relationships, including risk mitigation and performance monitoring.
• Oversee complex vendor negotiations and resolve escalations to protect company interests.
• Coach and supervise Purchasing Agents in negotiating pricing, contracts, and supplier agreements.
• Manage the workflow of administrative personnel regarding vendor documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of negotiating experience, preferably within homebuilding or construction.
• 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of estimating and purchasing principles.
• Strong understanding of residential construction practices and materials.
• Effective communication, negotiation, and time management skills.
• Availability to travel as needed within Houston and other Texas markets.
