Purchasing Manager

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of purchasing, supplier-commercial relations, and inventory for the Alajuela site.
• Design and execute strategies to address short and long-term supply issues for raw materials and indirect components.
• Manage Purchasing Price Variances (PPV) and lead cost savings initiatives through cross-functional engagement.
• Optimize inventory levels to balance production needs with cost efficiency.
• Monitor supplier performance and support the development and execution of sourcing strategies.
• Facilitate employee engagement, training, and development initiatives within the purchasing team.
• Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Inventory Control teams to ensure operational alignment.
• Analyze scrap material trends and implement corrective actions to drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• 7+ years of experience in purchasing, production planning, or supply chain functions.
• Working knowledge of materials management and manufacturing systems (MRP/ERP).
• Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Fully bilingual in English and Spanish.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with SAP.
• Knowledge of GMP and ISO9002 standards.
