Purchasing Management Specialist - Food

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end category ownership, including sourcing, planning, and purchasing food products.
• Source and develop new vendors and products within Asian food segments based on market trends and customer demand.
• Negotiate costs, payment terms, and lead times to secure optimal deals.
• Generate and follow up on purchase orders to ensure daily delivery and stock availability.
• Use data and metrics to optimize inventory levels, turnover, and cash flow.
• Forecast pricing and analyze buying patterns to optimize product assortment and pricing strategies.
• Maintain strong vendor relationships and monitor performance metrics such as fill rate and lead time.
• Partner with marketing and promotion teams to execute platform promotions and pricing plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree.
• 2-4+ years of purchasing or vendor management experience in retail or a related industry.
• Mastery of the Japanese language is required for communicating with international vendors.
• Excellent negotiation and persuasion skills in English.
• Strong analytical thinking skills and ability to make sound, timely decisions.
• Demonstrated enthusiasm for food, grocery, snack, or drink products.
• High attention to detail and the ability to adapt to evolving business needs.
