About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day support for purchasing and procurement, including contract management and supplier sourcing for the Bookstore.
- Process purchase requisitions and create Purchase Orders in compliance with University regulations and procurement laws.
- Maintain and update supplier databases, contract terms, and blanket purchase orders.
- Monitor administrative processes such as returns, pricing, vendor rebates, and price protection plans.
- Reconcile P-card transactions and verify invoices against Purchase Orders using Workday.
- Conduct research on potential vendors regarding price, quality, delivery, and sustainability.
- Collaborate with management to monitor supplier performance and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) like revenue and profit.
- Support the training and development of staff regarding store operations and inventory counting.
Requirements
- High school graduation plus training in office procedures and practices.
- Minimum of four years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Advanced spreadsheet and database skills.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in a computer-related field (diploma level or equivalent).
- Experience in public procurement.
- Proficiency with Workday and/or Optimum Control.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work calmly under pressure during peak periods.
- Knowledge of University procurement policies and procedures.
