Purchasing Agent

Responsibilities

• Manage overall sourcing activities, including general purchasing, supplier relationship management, and resourcing projects
• Maintain close relationships with suppliers within assigned commodities to proactively resolve issues
• Execute purchasing activities for product development and engineering change orders
• Act as a liaison between suppliers and plants in conjunction with Value Stream Management
• Serve as the first point of escalation for Outdoor plants regarding supplier-related shortages
• Identify gaps in the existing supply base to support future product development
• Monitor price changes and manage the approval and implementation of changes
• Support cross-functional initiatives focused on total cost improvements and supply vulnerability reductions

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• 3-5 years of professional purchasing experience
• Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Experience working with ERP/MRP systems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Commodity experience in areas such as Electrical, Motors, Bearings, Plastic Resins, Injection Molding, Powdered Metal, Hardware, or Packaging
