Purchase Officer

Responsibilities

• Source and procure construction materials, equipment, and services according to project requirements
• Obtain quotations and negotiate commercial terms including pricing, delivery, and payment terms
• Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs) in compliance with company policies
• Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and warehouse teams to ensure timely delivery
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with approved suppliers and identify new vendors
• Monitor market trends and material prices to achieve cost savings
• Ensure all materials comply with project specifications, quality standards, and client requirements
• Track purchase orders and expedite deliveries to prevent project delays
• Resolve supplier issues regarding delivery, quality, or invoice discrepancies
• Support tendering and estimation teams by obtaining competitive quotations during bid preparation

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration
• 7–10 years of procurement experience within the civil construction or contracting industry
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and subcontract procurement
• Proficiency in ERP systems (Xpedion) and Microsoft Excel
• Strong negotiation skills and commercial acumen
• Experience working in the GCC/UAE construction industry is preferred
