About the role

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a secure environment for faculty, staff, patients, and visitors through foot and mobile patrols
  • Respond immediately to unplanned life safety or security-related emergencies and drills
  • Manage two-way communications and dispatch functions, including monitoring CCTV
  • Provide security escorts and assist clinical staff with patient restraint when necessary
  • Conduct investigations of criminal or suspicious occurrences and complete detailed incident reports
  • Supervise shift operations and serve as a mentor to Public Safety Coordinators
  • Coordinate with emergency services and UCPD as required

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to complete the following certifications within 180 days of employment:
  • CPI Verbal Intervention Training
  • IAHSS Advanced Certification
  • CPR/AED Certification
  • Defensive Tactics
  • Handcuffing Certification
  • Use of Restraints

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Criminal Justice or an equivalent field
  • At least one year of experience working in a healthcare setting
