About the role
Responsibilities
- Maintain a secure and safe environment for faculty, staff, patients, visitors, and property through foot and mobile patrols.
- Respond immediately to unplanned life safety emergencies, security incidents, and drills.
- Manage two-way communications, monitor CCTV, and perform dispatch functions.
- Provide security escorts and assist clinical staff with patient restraint when necessary.
- Conduct investigations of suspicious occurrences and maintain accurate, detailed incident reports.
- Supervise shift operations and serve as a mentor to Public Safety Coordinators.
- Coordinate with emergency services and UCPD as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Ability to complete the following certifications within the first 180 days of employment:
- CPI Verbal Intervention Training
- IAHSS Advanced Certification
- CPR/AED Certification
- Defensive Tactics
- Handcuffing Certification
- Use of Restraints
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Criminal Justice or an equivalent field.
- At least one year of experience working in a healthcare setting.
