Public Safety Officer

Responsibilities

• Maintain a secure and safe environment for faculty, staff, patients, visitors, and property through foot and mobile patrols.
• Respond immediately to unplanned life safety emergencies, security incidents, and drills.
• Manage two-way communications, monitor CCTV, and perform dispatch functions.
• Provide security escorts and assist clinical staff with patient restraint when necessary.
• Conduct investigations of suspicious occurrences and maintain accurate, detailed incident reports.
• Supervise shift operations and serve as a mentor to Public Safety Coordinators.
• Coordinate with emergency services and UCPD as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to complete the following certifications within the first 180 days of employment:
• CPI Verbal Intervention Training
• IAHSS Advanced Certification
• CPR/AED Certification
• Defensive Tactics
• Handcuffing Certification
• Use of Restraints

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Criminal Justice or an equivalent field.
• At least one year of experience working in a healthcare setting.
