About the role
Responsibilities
- Maintain a secure environment for faculty, staff, patients, and visitors through foot and mobile patrols
- Respond immediately to unplanned life safety or security-related emergencies and drills
- Conduct dispatch communications, monitor CCTV, and manage two-way communications during operations
- Provide security escort services and assist clinical staff with patient restraint when necessary
- Document security-related incidents by completing accurate and detailed reports
- Assist with investigations of criminal or suspicious occurrences within the medical center
- Supervise shift operations and serve as a mentor to Public Safety Coordinators
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to complete the following certifications within 180 days of employment:
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Verbal Intervention Training
- International Association of Health Safety and Security (IAHSS) Advanced Certification
- CPR/AED Certification
- Defensive Tactics, Handcuffing, and Use of Restraints training
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Criminal Justice or an equivalent field
- At least one year of experience working in a healthcare setting
