Public Safety Officer

Responsibilities

• Maintain a secure environment for faculty, staff, patients, and visitors through foot and mobile patrols
• Respond immediately to unplanned life safety or security-related emergencies and drills
• Conduct dispatch communications, monitor CCTV, and manage two-way communications during operations
• Provide security escort services and assist clinical staff with patient restraint when necessary
• Document security-related incidents by completing accurate and detailed reports
• Assist with investigations of criminal or suspicious occurrences within the medical center
• Supervise shift operations and serve as a mentor to Public Safety Coordinators

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid Driver's License
• Ability to complete the following certifications within 180 days of employment:
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Verbal Intervention Training
• International Association of Health Safety and Security (IAHSS) Advanced Certification
• CPR/AED Certification
• Defensive Tactics, Handcuffing, and Use of Restraints training

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Criminal Justice or an equivalent field
• At least one year of experience working in a healthcare setting
