Public Safety Officer

Responsibilities

• Maintain a secure and safe environment for faculty, staff, patients, and visitors through regular foot and mobile patrols.
• Respond immediately to unplanned life safety emergencies, security incidents, and clinical requests for assistance with difficult patients.
• Conduct dispatch communications, monitor CCTV, and manage two-way radio communications during daily operations.
• Perform security escort services and provide security in high-risk areas of the medical center.
• Document all activities by completing accurate and detailed incident reports and maintaining departmental records.
• Assist with investigations of criminal or suspicious occurrences and coordinate with UCPD or emergency services when necessary.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to complete the following certifications within the first 180 days of employment:
• CPI Verbal Intervention Training
• IAHSS Advanced Certification
• CPR/AED Certification
• Defensive Tactics
• Handcuffing Certification
• Use of Restraints

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Criminal Justice or an equivalent field.
• At least one year of experience working in a healthcare setting.
