About the role
Responsibilities
- Maintain a secure and safe environment for faculty, staff, patients, and visitors through regular foot and mobile patrols.
- Respond immediately to unplanned life safety emergencies, security incidents, and clinical requests for assistance with difficult patients.
- Conduct dispatch communications, monitor CCTV, and manage two-way radio communications during daily operations.
- Perform security escort services and provide security in high-risk areas of the medical center.
- Document all activities by completing accurate and detailed incident reports and maintaining departmental records.
- Assist with investigations of criminal or suspicious occurrences and coordinate with UCPD or emergency services when necessary.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Ability to complete the following certifications within the first 180 days of employment:
- CPI Verbal Intervention Training
- IAHSS Advanced Certification
- CPR/AED Certification
- Defensive Tactics
- Handcuffing Certification
- Use of Restraints
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Criminal Justice or an equivalent field.
- At least one year of experience working in a healthcare setting.
