Public Safety Officer

Responsibilities

• Provide safety, security, and support to the campus community through proactive patrolling of buildings and grounds
• Respond effectively to medical emergencies, fire alarms, and criminal incidents with professional documentation
• Respond respectfully to individuals of all cultures, affirming their dignity and worth
• Perform building lock/unlock procedures and conduct routine safety inspections following regulatory guidelines
• Act as a dispatcher by handling incoming calls and monitoring emergency responses
• Enforce parking regulations and provide escort services to students, employees, and visitors
• Assist in managing emergency situations such as severe weather or assaults

Requirements

• Minimum of three months of experience in customer service, community engagement, or volunteer work
• Ability to work various shifts (day and night) as required by campus needs

Preferred Qualifications

• Creative and adaptable staff who enjoy working in a multicultural university environment
• Experience promoting cultural fluency and understanding consistent with university values
