Public Safety Officer

Responsibilities

• Support the Office of Public Safety through non-sworn security duties
• Perform regular foot patrols across the Clinton Campus
• Maintain a visible presence to ensure campus safety and security
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions for extended periods
• Report directly to the Shift Supervisor regarding campus activities and incidents

Requirements

• High school diploma required
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Ability to perform physical foot patrols and work outdoors in inclement weather
• Successful completion of a background investigation
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to support the mission, vision, and values of Mississippi College

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous law enforcement or first responder experience
• College degree or earned college credits
