Public Safety Officer

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a safe learning and working environment for the university community
• Provide walking or driving escorts and lock/unlock campus buildings
• Respond to emergency and non-emergency requests for assistance
• Coordinate Police, Fire, and EMS response as needed
• Monitor campus activities and facilities through proactive patrol
• Identify after-hours facilities issues and coordinate emergency maintenance
• Prepare accurate incident reports for security and safety activities
• Monitor CCTV, fire alarm panels, automation systems, and access card systems

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods
• Ability to drive a motor vehicle for patrols and escorts

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of professional experience in public safety or security
• Experience in customer service or community engagement
