About the role

Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain all guest and crew public areas, including restrooms, staircases, and launderettes
  • Perform general floor care duties such as shampooing, stripping, waxing, vacuuming, and polishing
  • Use various chemical cleaning products and floor care equipment safely and effectively
  • Manage garbage removal and ensure strict adherence to Public Health Standards and separation procedures
  • Assist guests with directions and general information following Viking’s STAR Service Standards
  • Report any maintenance or repair needs to the Assistant Chief Housekeeper using the ship's reporting system
  • Participate in luggage duty and special deliveries during embarkation and disembarkation days
  • Maintain impeccable grooming standards and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Requirements

  • 1 year of custodial or similar experience in a 5-star hotel environment
  • Knowledge of floor care and experience operating floor cleaning equipment
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform extensive walking and standing for long periods
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including day and night rotations
  • Full vaccination against specific diseases (Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Tetanus/Diphtheria, and Hepatitis A and B)
  • Eligibility to work in the United States
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
