Public Procurement Consultant

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement effective procurement strategies for government agencies and private organizations
• Assess current procurement processes and recommend improvements for efficiency and transparency
• Monitor and enforce compliance with procurement policies, laws, and regulatory frameworks
• Assist clients in drafting comprehensive requests for public tenders and requirement lists
• Define weighted evaluation, selection, and awarding criteria for public tenders
• Evaluate vendor proposals and provide data-driven recommendations for supplier selection
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and monitor vendor performance
• Conduct training sessions and workshops to enhance client procurement knowledge and maturity

Requirements

• Master's degree in Economics, Law, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or Econometrics
• 3 to 6 years of experience in a consultancy firm or a governmental institution
• Deep knowledge of public tendering procedures, including strategies, rules, and threshold amounts
• Fluency in French, Dutch, and English
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize complex information into conclusions
• High interest in data and AI-related topics and the ability to build expertise quickly
• Autonomous, result-oriented, and rigorous professional approach

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Belgian and international procurement legislation
• Willingness to participate in temporary assignments abroad (e.g., France or the Netherlands)
