About the role
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, stakeholders, and the local community affected by the M6 Lune Gorge project
- Coordinate communications through various channels including letter drops, face-to-face meetings, and community events
- Act as the primary point of contact for the local community, responding to enquiries and concerns with professionalism
- Maintain accurate records of all stakeholder engagement on the National Highways CRM system
- Support social value opportunities, including charitable events, school engagement, and careers fairs
Requirements
- Experience in a similar public liaison or community engagement role
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly both in writing and face-to-face
- Highly organised, approachable, and able to build positive relationships with diverse groups of people
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and make quick, fair, and inclusive decisions
- Proficient IT skills, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel
