Public Housing Outreach and Advocacy Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Support and strengthen tenant organizing efforts in NYCHA developments and resident associations
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with NYCHA residents and community-based organizations
• Organize and facilitate listening sessions, town halls, and working groups
• Serve as a liaison between the Mayor's Office to Protect Tenants (MOPT) and NYCHA
• Participate in interagency working groups related to housing stability
• Integrate NYCHA tenant perspectives into policy development and program design
• Develop accessible materials for tenants regarding rights and City resources
• Prepare briefings and reports for MOPT leadership

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required
• 2+ years of relevant experience in housing policy, government, or a related field
• Experience in tenant organizing, housing advocacy, or community organizing
• Deep understanding of tenant rights and housing justice in New York City
• Strong facilitation and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in public policy, urban planning, or law
• Experience specifically in public or subsidized housing
